Volunteer!

The Northland Bioneers Conference is produced by volunteers and organizations who 'become the change they want to see in the world' by collaborating with others.

Northland Bioneers Conference prioritizes making the event accessible to low/no income individuals. These voices are particularly important as they are often underrepresented or represented by a surrogate who does not experience financial stress directly. Please, if you experience yourself as living in low/no economic circumstances, attend this conference and share your perspective.

27% of the total event capacity will be reserved for low/no income participants through the volunteer and scholarship programs.

Please consider that generating income from registrations is critical. The longevity of the Northland Bioneers Conference depends on it. So, if you can afford to pay the full rates, please do so even if you volunteer. We have reduced rates from ’06 to make this an easier invitation to say Yes to by more people. And, if you can’t pay the full rate or can not pay at all, here are three other options:

1. Apply for a volunteer registration: You’ll donate 4 hours of your time and pay only $49 for a weekend pass. Download volunteer registration.

  • 70 ‘4hr + $49’ Volunteer Registrations will be accepted

2. Apply for a scholarship registration: You’ll attend a day or the weekend at no cost and with no volunteer requirement. Download scholarship registration.

  • 30 Free Scholarships will be awarded (10 single day & 30 weekend passes)

3. Apply for a Lead Volunteer position: You’ll apply your skill in a particular area of need for 20 or more hrs and receive free weekend registration. Download volunteer registration.

  • 20 Lead Volunteer registrations will be accepted.

Areas ready for leadership and followership include:

  • On Site: Friday Set up, Signage set up
  • On Site: Registratation/ participant reception
  • On Site: Food assistance
  • On Site: Clean up Sunday evening
  • ON Site: Stage Manager
  • On Site: Technical Operator
  • Pre-Event: ADMINISTRATION (5 hrs wk to manage dbase, budget, email & scheduling)
  • Pre-Event: REGISTRATION (2 hrs week to manage UptownTix on line registration and manage on site registration)
  • Pre-Event: PROMOTION (distribute flyers)
